Have you ever said no to something because it freaks you out? Maybe you think you’re the wrong person for it or you’re not sure you’re ready to take on whatever it is. I get it. I’ve been there.

Recently, I was offered the opportunity to go to Portland and train a bunch of people in the title industry. My head immediately starts listing all the reasons I should say no… And it would have been SO easy to just say no.

All those reasons, though, they come from fear. Fear of failure, fear of rejection, fear of ANYTHING. But I said YES…and so can you! I have four steps to help you move out your fear-based thoughts in your head and into the soft, strong, fearLESS voice of your heart.

First, anytime you’re presented with ANYTHING that kind of scares you because it’s pushing you outside your comfort zone, you MUST say yes. You MUST.  You’ll notice your head is freaking out and sounds super convincing but take a step back. You’ll hear your heart whispering a “yeah, but…” SAY YES – let your heart take over.

Second, give in to your brain, but only a little! You’re not going to have any clue how to do it. That’s kind of the point! So go forth and LEARN! Figure out what you’ll need – resources, education, etc. Start acquiring those things.

Third, ASK FOR HELP. Here’s the thing, you may not know it yet, but you’re surrounded by people who have already done the thing you’ve just been asked to do. Reach out! Find someone you can talk to and take them to coffee. You know I’m a huge fan of coaches and mentors. Surround yourself with people who can teach you and help prepare you for that scary thing you just said yes to.

Fourth, and last, BELIEVE. This is key. Believe in yourself! If you don’t believe you can do it, at least believe you can figure it out. This will carry you through ANYTHING. You won’t just do the big scare-your-pants off thing, you’ll ROCK it!

All boils down to this. When you’re offered an opportunity that scares you silly – say YES, then take a deep breath and follow the steps to getting it done in the most tremendous way.
